The way the Apostle John describes the new creation in Revelation 21-22 draws heavily on temple imagery familiar to his first-century audience. And, because temple imagery was linked to the Garden of Eden in Genesis, we shouldn’t be surprised to find many allusions to Eden in John’s description of the new Jerusalem.
